🎯 Degree Levels:

  • Postgraduate (Master’s)
  • Doctoral (PhD)
  • Research stays (minimum of 4 semesters)

🎓 Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must have a university degree (no bachelor-level funding)
  • Above-average academic performance
  • German language skills (minimum B2 level)
  • Active in voluntary work
  • Plan to study at least 4 semesters in Germany
  • Interest in political issues, democracy, and human rights
  • Open-mindedness and willingness to develop personal views
  • Highly motivated with clear life goals

Additional notes:

  • Medicine/Pharmacy students: Apply after intermediate exams (no support for specialization training or research stays in medicine/dentistry)
  • Applicants with an existing PhD degree are not eligible

💰 Scholarship Benefits:

  • Monthly stipend for Master's/Postgraduate: €992
  • Monthly stipend for PhD students: €1,400
  • Health insurance subsidy: up to €120/month
  • Family allowance: €276 (for spouse living together in Germany)
  • Children allowance: €194 per child/month
  • Course fee reimbursement: up to €1,500/semester (study-related only)
  • Research stay abroad (for PhD scholars): Additional support possible

📢 Students from these regions must apply through their local KAS offices.
📢 Students already living/studying in Germany apply via the domestic online procedure.

📅 Application Deadline:

  • July 15, 2025 (12:00 noon, German time) — for students applying from within Germany.

📂 Required Documents:

  • CV in tabular form
  • Detailed motivation letter
  • Copies of academic certificates (translated into German)
  • German language certificate (B2 or above)
  • Letters of recommendation (academic and/or professional)
  • Proof of voluntary work/social engagement
